Rocky and the Mooseknuckles is a five-piece American Rock and Roll cover band whose music spans a wide range of genres and time periods including 1950’s rockabilly (Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly), to 1960’s dance rock and instrumental surf featuring music from The Beatles, The Guess Who, The Chambers Brothers, The Zombies, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Byrds, The Ventures, Booker T and the MG’s and Link Wray. They also delve into 70’s and 80’s artists including Steve Miller, Tom Petty, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, as well as current artists such as The Decemberists, Jake Bugg, and Chris Stapleton.
The band’s namesake, Rocky Petrocelli, is a veteran Albany blues drummer, graduate of the Berklee College of Music, and the owner of Rocky’s Music Studio. Rocky is known for playing drums for The Ernie Williams Band along with many other capital region performers. Other musicians in the band include Mike Kelley, keyboard and vocalist, known for playing with bands such as The Sharks, The Lustre Kings, The Ernie Williams Band, and Blotto. On the bass and vocals is Alex Craig (Campoli), formerly of Mirinda and the American Country Show. The band’s front man, guitarist, and lead singer is Eric Peter, who has been performing around the Capital Region and the Adirondack North Country for over 30 years. Eric has performed with 50’s music legends Ray Peterson (Tell Laura I love Her), Troy Shondell from The Shondells, The Hager Twins From Hee Haw, and Mirinda and the American Country Show.
